A Home Where Every Part of You is Welcome.
You are not too much. You are not alone.
Welcome to the Heart House Community. Whether a book, a talk, or a long search for understanding brought you here, you are in the right place. Take off your coat. You can rest here.
This is a home for survivors of severe trauma, those who live with Dissociative Identity Disorder, and the people who love them. Here, your story is believed and your parts are honored.
There is room for all of you in this house. Come in.
You are welcome.

A Life-Saving Response
Living with DID is not a brokenness to be fixed. It is the wise, ordered, life-saving response of a mind that was fearfully and wonderfully made. When a child faces what is too much to carry alone, the mind brilliantly steps in to share the weight. The parts inside are not a sickness. They are survival. In these rooms, we call it what it is. A gift.

Understanding the Way You Survived
Dissociative Identity Disorder is often misunderstood. It is not a flaw, and it is not the dramatic version shown in movies. It is a mind's way of protecting a person from trauma too overwhelming to face all at once. The parts are real, each one carries something important, and each one deserves gentleness. If you are looking for someone who understands this firsthand, my door is open.
From Those Who Have Walked Here
This woman is amazing. She is so brave to come forward and tell her story. This helps me understand more, and even understand myself more.

Writing to You from the Inside
I am Anita Anderson. I am an author, a lay counselor, and a survivor. I have spent more than eight decades learning that no one has to walk this road alone. I created the Heart House Community because I could not find the place I needed, so I built it. My door is open to you through this peer ministry.
